How to Assemble the Teachers Pay Teachers Gift Card Holder

Putting the gift card holder together is quick and easy. All you need is the digital download, cardstock, scissors or an Exacto knife, and a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.

Step 1: Print

Print the gift card holder on cardstock paper for a sturdier finished product.

Step 2: Cut Out the Holder

Carefully cut around the outside of the gift card holder along the outer black lines.

Step 3: Cut the Opening

Use scissors or an Exacto knife to carefully cut along the dotted lines at the top of the pocket to create the opening where the gift card will be inserted.

 Don't want to mess with cutting? You can also just tape your gift card to the front of the card.

Step 4: Add the Gift Card

Slide your Teachers Pay Teachers gift card into the opening on the front pocket of the holder.

Step 5: Sign Your Name

Sign your name in the space provided on the gift card holder.

Step 6: Give Your Gift!

Place the finished gift card holder inside a 5x7 envelope or gift bag, and your teacher gift is ready to give!

Teachers can always use extra supplies and goodies in their classrooms, so a tote bag makes the perfect container for a beginning-of-the-year gift. The best part is that you can customize the contents based on your budget and what you think your child’s teacher will enjoy.

It doesn't have to be an expensive gift. A few simple items tucked inside a cute tote bag can make a thoughtful way to say: “We’re so excited you’re our teacher!”

To put together your own back-to-school teacher gift, you'll need: 

• A tote bag
• A printable “TOTE-ALLY excited you are my teacher!” gift tag
• Cardstock
• Ribbon
• A hole punch
• Teacher goodies to fill the tote bag

How to Make the Teacher Gift

Step 1: Choose a Tote Bag

Start with a cute tote bag. You can use a plain canvas tote, a colorful tote, or even a reusable shopping bag.  Here is a link to the mini tote bags (pictured above) I found off of Amazon.

You can also use large tote bags that the teacher can use throughout the school year to carry classroom supplies, books, papers, or personal items in it!

Step 2: Fill the Tote

Add a few teacher goodies to the tote bag.

You can create a theme, such as a “teacher survival kit,” or simply add a mixture of useful classroom supplies and fun treats.

Don't feel like you need to spend a lot of money. A few inexpensive items can make a wonderful gift!

Step 3: Print the Gift Tag

Print the “TOTE-ALLY excited you are my teacher!” gift tag on cardstock.

The printable includes three different sizes, so you can choose the size that works best with your tote bag.

For the best results, I recommend printing the tag on white cardstock.

Step 6: Attach the Tag

Carefully cut around the outside of the gift tag. Use a hole punch to make a hole near the top of the tag. Make sure you leave enough space around the hole so the tag won't tear when you attach it to the bag.

Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole in the gift tag and tie it securely to the tote bag.  Here is a link to the ribbon I used (pictured above) I found off of Amazon.

Step 7: Give It to the Teacher!
