This week's unit was all about Earth Day and how we can take care of the Earth!
Here are some pictures of the anchor charts I made and used this week for my Earth Day unit.
On this chart we brainstormed as a class and wrote down different ways we can take care of the Earth.
When making the anchor charts I use in my classroom I always make them ahead of time. I will create the charts, print and attach graphics, color them, and then finally laminate them. By laminating the charts this allows me to reuse them year after year. During my lessons I use an Expo marker to write on the charts so the writing can easily be erased.
Here are some of the activities we did this week for our Earth Day unit!
Poetry Activity:
After reading the poem Green Giant by Jack Prelutsky my students drew pictures of what they thought the green giant looked liked based on the descriptions in the poem.
Craft Activity:
Using small paper plates and blue and green tissue paper my students made a picture of the Earth to go along with the Earth Day poem.
The Earth Day poem says:
Everyday is Earth Day,
if it's cold or wet or hot,
Pitch in to save the planet.
It's the only one we've got!
