Monthly Newsletters

At the beginning of each month I send home a monthly newsletter to my parents.  The newsletter keeps my parents informed on what we have been learning in class, upcoming important dates, what to keep working on at home with your child, and various updates and information.  I really like to make a detailed list of the skills we have been learning in class.  That way parents have a better idea on what their child should know and when.  It really comes in handy when parents are helping their child read each night.  They know what phonics skills have been taught and can really help their child look for chunks in the words they don’t know and sound them out.  Below is an example of what my newsletter looks like each month.
